About 300 guests left a hotel in Cox’s Bazar after a fire broke out in its ground-floor parking and generator area on the afternoon of 23 October. No injuries were reported.

The fire at the Sea Princess Hotel near Sugandha Point sent smoke through the building, prompting guests to leave their rooms and move towards the beach and open areas outside. Hotel staff and firefighters responded, and the blaze was brought under control.

Fire Service deputy assistant director Syed Muhammad Morshed Hossain said an electrical fault in the generator was suspected. The precise cause had not been established in the initial accounts. Officials confirmed that the guests were safe.

Hotel managing director Abdul Kader said staff acted promptly and maintained that the building had adequate firefighting arrangements. His account describes the hotel’s response; the extent of any damage was not immediately clear.

The incident came less than a week after a fire at another Cox’s Bazar resort killed ten people. Friday’s evacuation again brought fire safety in the busy tourist district into focus, although this blaze caused no reported casualties.
