Bangladesh condemned Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia on 23 October and called for an immediate end to the attacks and a peaceful resolution through diplomacy.
In a statement, the foreign ministry expressed sympathy for affected families and solidarity with Saudi Arabia’s government and people. The statement referred to attacks including the strike on Dammam’s airport, which affected two Bangladeshi nationals.
The expatriates’ welfare ministry had said on 22 October that Sajal Chandra Das from Cumilla and Mohammad Abdur Rahim from Noakhali were receiving care at Saudi German Hospital in Dammam following the 21 October attack. An embassy representative visited them.
According to that earlier ministry account, the two lost consciousness because of heat and smoke but had no physical injuries. They were stable and able to speak with the embassy representative. Friday’s statement did not provide a new medical assessment.
