The president has accepted the resignations of Public Service Commission members Md Mohiuddin and Professor Mohammad Sohel Rahman, reducing the commission’s membership from 20 to 18.
PSC spokesperson SM Matiur Rahman confirmed the decision on 18 October. Mohiuddin, a former secretary, submitted his resignation on 15 October. Sohel Rahman, a professor at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, submitted his on 17 October.
The reports described the resignations as voluntary. Acceptance on 18 October is the new administrative development, following the two members’ earlier submissions.
The departures follow an earlier change in the commission’s leadership. Professor Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuiyan took over as chairman in September after the resignation of his predecessor, Mobassher Monem.
