The Supreme Court has fixed hearing dates for appeals in the Narayanganj seven-murder case and the killings of BUET student Abrar Fahad and retired army major Sinha Md Rashed Khan.

Chamber judge Justice Md Rezaul Haque made the orders on 18 October, placing the matters before regular benches of the Appellate Division.

The Narayanganj appeals are scheduled for 17 November. The Abrar Fahad appeals will be heard on 24 November, followed by the Sinha case on 1 December.

Attorney General Md Ruhul Quddus Kajal said his office had taken the initiative to advance the proceedings. He said teams had been assigned to complete the necessary preparations for the hearings.

The cases concern separate killings in 2014, 2019 and 2020. Seven people were abducted and murdered in Narayanganj; Abrar was killed at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology; and Sinha was shot at a police checkpoint in Cox’s Bazar.

The appeals concern judgments already delivered in the three cases. The attorney general’s office will prepare the cases for their scheduled hearings before the Appellate Division.
