The government has appointed 1,702 candidates to entry-level civil service posts following the 45th Bangladesh Civil Service examination. They have been instructed to join on 1 November, subject to the conditions in the appointment notification.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued the gazette on 14 October, with reports published the following day. The appointments include 266 in the administration cadre, 71 in police and nine in foreign affairs.

The Public Service Commission had recommended 1,807 candidates. The gazetted total is therefore 105 lower, but the available reports do not establish an individual reason for each omission.

Recruits must undertake foundation training at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre or another institution designated by the government. Unless their controlling ministry or division issues further instructions, they are to report on the specified date.

The notification says failure to join on that date will be treated as unwillingness to take up the appointment and the appointment will be cancelled.

The recruitment process began with the examination notice in November 2022.
