Bangladesh finished runners-up in the Begum Khaleda Zia IHF Nations Trophy after losing the women's handball final 28–16 to India in Dhaka on 22 October. The match was played at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in Paltan.

India led 14–9 at half-time and extended the advantage after the interval. Goalkeeper Diksha Kumari repeatedly denied Bangladesh and was named player of the match, while India's Bhawana Sharma received the tournament's best-player award.

The hosts ended the four-team competition with two wins and two defeats. They beat Nepal and the Maldives, while both losses came against India. The final margin was narrower than the 47–13 defeat in the round-robin stage.

After the final, Bangladesh captain Ismetara Nishi called for regular international matches, saying more exposure would help players develop their skills and maturity.

Coach Ana Alonso Fragua said the team was moving in the right direction but needed better physical conditioning and stronger defence. She stressed consistent training with clubs and local teams, alongside work during national-team camps.
