Biman Bangladesh Airlines has again suspended flights from Dhaka to Dammam and Riyadh after an attack at King Fahd International Airport, reversing its latest plans to restore services to the Saudi cities.
In a notice issued on 22 October, the airline cancelled Dammam departures scheduled for 23, 24 and 25 October. All Dhaka–Riyadh flights are suspended through 31 October. Biman cited passenger safety and the continuing security situation in Saudi Arabia.
The decision followed the attack in Dammam on the night of 21 October. The airline said it would announce further decisions and revised schedules for the affected routes in due course.
Flights between Dhaka and Jeddah or Medina will continue under their existing schedules. Biman said passengers bound for Dammam or Riyadh could travel through those airports, or return to Bangladesh through them, subject to seats being available. Travellers were asked to contact its sales centres for ticketing and other information.
The renewed suspensions come after Biman resumed Dammam services on 21 October and announced a Riyadh departure for early 26 October Bangladesh time. That planned Riyadh flight now falls within the extended suspension.
