Ten dengue patients died in Bangladesh in the 24 hours to 8am on 15 October, equalling the year’s previous daily high. Hospitals admitted another 1,943 patients during the same period, the Directorate General of Health Services said.

The latest deaths brought the reported toll for 2026 to 331. Recorded hospital admissions since the beginning of the year reached 107,259. Those admission figures do not represent every dengue infection in the country.

Seven of the latest deaths were reported in Dhaka city: four in the south city corporation area and three in the north. Two were reported in Chattogram division and one elsewhere in Dhaka division.

The daily death total matched the 10 reported on 6 October. It was therefore a return to the annual peak, rather than a new record.

The health directorate also reported 1,830 patients discharged during the latest 24-hour period. Recorded discharges for the year reached 101,031. The bulletin’s figures describe the hospital reporting period ending on 15 October.
