Minister proposes training mosque leaders on safer food production

Agriculture Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid said imams and muezzins would receive training to spread awareness about safer farming and modern agricultural methods, BSS reported on 3 October 2026.

Speaking at a conference in Cumilla, he emphasised reducing excessive pesticide use and combining established farming knowledge with modern technology. The report describes a proposed training initiative, not a completed nationwide programme.
