Health minister announces plan to expand Patiya hospital

Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain announced a plan to upgrade Patiya Upazila Health Complex to 150 beds during a visit on 3 October 2026, BSS reported.

He inspected services, equipment, medicine supplies and patient meals, and called for additional beds as an immediate step. The expansion is an announced plan; the report does not say construction is complete. The featured file photo shows Dhaka Shishu Hospital, not Patiya.
