Olympic Industries approves another land purchase in Narayanganj

Olympic Industries has approved buying 32.87 decimals of land in Narayanganj for about Tk1.15 crore, plus registration costs. The purchase is intended to support future expansion. It follows another recent land-buying decision, while the company’s latest annual revenue rose and profit eased.

From 14 October 2026 — Daily Brief

Olympic Industries has approved purchasing 32.87 decimals of land in Narayanganj for about Tk1.15 crore to support future expansion.

The biscuit and confectionery manufacturer’s board took the decision on 12 October and disclosed it through the Dhaka Stock Exchange on 13 October. The plot is in Changain mouza, Kanchpur, in Sonargaon.

Registration expenses, value-added tax and other transaction charges will be borne by the company in addition to the agreed land price.

The decision follows a separate disclosure on 11 October of plans to acquire land in Narayanganj for Tk3.38 crore. The latest purchase is therefore an additional transaction, rather than a restatement of that earlier announcement.

Olympic’s revenue increased by more than 6% to Tk2,955 crore in the year ended June 2026, while net profit eased to Tk199 crore from Tk201 crore. The company attributed the profit decline to higher income-tax expenses.

It has recommended a 35% cash dividend for that financial year, compared with 30% a year earlier.

The land disclosure establishes the board’s acquisition decision. It does not set out a completed construction project, additional production capacity or an opening date for new facilities.
