From 13 October 2026 — Daily Brief

Police are investigating an attack on Jatiyo Party chairman GM Quader’s residence in Uttara on the morning of 12 October.

Quader said around 50 to 60 young men gathered outside the house at about 10am, shouted slogans and threw stones and pieces of brick. He said property was damaged.

Uttara West police chief Md Khalid Mansur told The Business Standard that those involved had not been identified and nobody had been detained at the time of the report.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Uttara division said officers went to the scene after receiving information, but the group had left before police arrived.

The account of the crowd’s size and the damage comes from Quader. The available police statements established that an investigation was under way, not the identities or organisational affiliations of those responsible. They did not establish responsibility by any political party.
