Three suspected measles deaths reported in latest daily bulletin
The latest DGHS update separates three suspected deaths from the unchanged cumulative total of 102 confirmed deaths.

From 6 October 2026 — Daily Brief
Three more people died with suspected measles in Bangladesh during the 24 hours to Monday morning, while no new death from laboratory-confirmed measles was reported, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
Two of the latest deaths were recorded in Chattogram division and one in Dhaka. The reporting period ran from 8am on Sunday to 8am on Monday.
The cumulative figures now stand at 1,026 deaths among people with measles symptoms and 102 confirmed measles deaths, a combined total of 1,128. The two categories remain distinct: symptoms alone do not establish a confirmed diagnosis.
Another 1,296 people presented with suspected symptoms during the period, and 1,179 were admitted to hospital. Sixty additional infections were confirmed by testing, the bulletin said.
Recorded hospital admissions have reached 175,336, with 168,142 patients discharged. The surveillance figures include 197,722 people with symptoms and 21,808 confirmed infections; these are overlapping categories and should not be added together.
The directorate has tracked the outbreak since 15 March. Its figures describe people recorded by the health system. Because not everyone with symptoms is tested or attends hospital, they do not provide a complete count of all infections in the community.
