Recovery work continued on Monday after Storm Boelo brought fatal falling trees, power failures and transport disruption. Two men died in separate incidents on Sunday: a man in his 60s near Castle Douglas and a man in his 20s in north London.

About 39,000 properties remained without electricity at 8am on Monday, according to the recovery figures reported by Sky News. That was a snapshot during restoration work, rather than the total number of homes affected across the weekend.

A further yellow wind warning was issued for 6pm on Monday until 3am on Tuesday. It covered parts of north-west and south-west England, Wales, Northern Ireland and western and southern Scotland. Forecast gusts reached 45–50mph inland and 60–65mph in exposed locations.

Scottish authorities said recovery operations were continuing. School closures and rail disruption remained part of the aftermath, with restoration progressing at different speeds across affected communities.
