A Dhaka court has deferred a hearing on framing charges against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 33 other defendants in a case concerning the death of truck driver Md Hossain.
Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 set 26 October as the next date after two detained defendants could not be produced because they had proceedings before the International Crimes Tribunal, according to state counsel.
The case concerns Hossain’s death in Mohammadpur on 19 July 2024 during the protest movement. His mother later filed a murder complaint, and investigators submitted a charge sheet in November 2025.
Court records cited in the report say some defendants remain at large, others are detained and others have bail.
The adjournment is a procedural development, not a verdict or finding of guilt. The charges and each defendant’s legal responsibility remain matters for the court to determine.
