Eight suspected measles deaths reported in latest health update
Eight children with suspected measles died in the 24 hours to 8am on 3 October 2026, The Business Standard reported, citing health directorate figures.
The combined confirmed and suspected death toll reached 1,122: 102 laboratory-confirmed and 1,020 suspected deaths. The update recorded 1,109 new suspected cases and 43 confirmed infections. Suspected cases and deaths should not be read as laboratory-confirmed diagnoses.
