Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to begin a four-day official visit to Japan on 26 October, with investment, infrastructure and energy cooperation prominent on the programme.

His flight is scheduled to leave Dhaka shortly after midnight and arrive at Narita later that morning. Summit talks with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi are planned for 27 October.

The programme includes meetings with Japanese business representatives and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, as well as an address to the Bangladesh–Japan Economic Forum. Visits to a Toyota factory and a JERA liquefied natural gas terminal are also planned.

Officials and diplomatic reporting have pointed to potential financing agreements and an updated framework for bilateral economic cooperation.

Those expectations are distinct from signed outcomes. The visit’s substantive results will depend on the agreements and joint statements actually issued by the two governments.
