The National Citizen Party dissolved the existing committee of its women’s wing, Jatiya Nari Shakti, on 25 October and announced a three-member convening panel.

Mahmuda Alam Mitu, a lawmaker elected to a reserved women’s seat, has been appointed convener. Nusrat Tabassum is member secretary, while lawyer Monjila Jhuma will serve as chief organiser.

The party said the new panel had been approved on the instructions of NCP convener Nahid Islam and member secretary Akhtar Hossen.

It has been asked to form a full committee within 15 days. The announcement therefore establishes an initial leadership team, with a wider organisational structure still to follow.

The change concerns the party’s women’s organisation. It is distinct from the NCP’s separate discussions about creating a volunteer wing.
