Trump rules out US diesel export ban after reserve-release agreement

US President Donald Trump said on 2 October that Washington would not impose a diesel export ban, AFP reported on 3 October 2026.
The statement followed the G7 agreement to release 100 million barrels of oil and petroleum products over four months. Trump had previously supported an export restriction. His latest comments indicate a change in the administration’s stated approach to global fuel-supply pressures.
