Dhaka roundtable calls for transparency in power-sector spending

Participants at a National Press Club roundtable on 3 October 2026 called for greater transparency in Bangladesh’s electricity-sector income and expenditure, Just Energy News reported.

The consumer-rights group organising the discussion also demanded lower tariffs, an end to prepaid-meter projects and publication of a white paper on alleged irregularities. These were participants’ demands and allegations, not an official investigation’s conclusions or newly adopted government policy.
