A six-day jute-products fair opened at the Jute Diversification Promotion Center in Tejgaon on 3 October 2026, BSS reported. Textiles and Jute Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir said the government wants more locally grown jute processed into higher-value goods.
The fair runs until 8 October, from 10am to 8pm. A new JDPC Express outlet was also inaugurated. The minister highlighted packaging and blended fibres as possible routes to stronger export earnings.
