Import and export activity through Benapole–Petrapole returned to regular operation on 25 October after the Durga Puja holiday period and a customs server problem.
Limited trade had restarted on Saturday, but the technical disruption prevented normal clearance. Some perishable goods were handled manually. Sunday’s reports initially described continuing difficulties; later reporting quoted officials saying the problem had been resolved and full trade had resumed.
Port and customs staff returned to work, while handling workers began loading and unloading consignments. Officials said cargo queues had built up on both sides during the holiday period.
Passenger travel between Bangladesh and India had continued during the trade closure. Some cargo handling and clearance work had also taken place on selected days.
The reopening restores regular commercial operations at the crossing, although clearing the accumulated cargo remains a separate task.
