A parliamentary committee was told on 25 October that Rajuk allocated 1,413 plots on political considerations between 2009 and 2024 across five residential areas and development projects.

The Housing and Public Works Ministry briefing covered Gulshan, Banani, Uttara, Jhilmil and Purbachal. Purbachal accounted for 944 of the allocations.

Separate reports alleging irregularities concern 874 plots in Purbachal and 200 in Jhilmil. Work on those 1,074 files has been temporarily suspended, according to information presented to the committee.

The findings followed a review of allocation documents by a committee formed in response to a High Court rule. Parliamentary members discussed legal action after proper investigation and examination of the supporting evidence.

The figures describe allocations under scrutiny and files placed on hold. They do not establish wrongdoing by every allottee or mean that all the plots have been cancelled.
