Tourists will be allowed back onto Saint Martin’s Island from 1 November, following a government decision to extend the visiting season and increase the daily limit.

The Environment Ministry’s instructions, issued on 25 October, allow visits until 15 March 2027. Up to 3,500 tourists may visit each day, and a Tk100 fee will apply.

Approved passenger vessels will operate from the Nuniachhara terminal in Cox’s Bazar. The ministry said the other conditions set out in its October 2025 instructions would remain in force.

The island has been closed to tourists since 1 February. The new decision follows an inter-ministerial meeting held on 12 October and sets the framework for the coming season.

The reopening is therefore conditional on the authorised transport arrangements and environmental restrictions, rather than unrestricted access to the island.
